Color Confidence

When Spring arrives, it shines light on new projects around the house! We recently attended a few local home and garden shows and gathered the latest in tips and trades on paint color to help you kick-off your home projects.

Color confidence comes when the hues are neutral perfect for balancing between captivating and calming. Whether your home looks best dressed in warm or cool shades based on the ceiling, wood trim and walls, the neutral palette can fit in nicely.

Beautiful detailed trim is stunning when painted or stained a contrasting color, however if your baseboard is more plain, and maybe not in the best of shape, it can disappear being painted the same color of the wall or a slightly lighter hue. The walls will look higher and the buyer’s eye will be drawn to the room’s best features.

Reminder that the higher the sheen in the paint, the more the wall imperfections will show. If your walls are not perfect, stay with a flat sheen. Even though different sheens are great for visual interest throughout the home. Also remember the higher the sheen, the darker the color will appear.

Contribute to the value of your home by painting neutrals whenever possible.
